Dealer Public Relations

Here how www.dealerpublicrelations.com all started. One day a friend of mine said to me I'm going to hire a Social Media person for my company. Social media I asked whats that? I thought about car dealerships and the fact we all get bad reviews, nasty blogs and we never do anything about it. Now for those of us still stuck in our Verizon contracts and don't have an apple iphone. I had to use Yahoo yellow pages. I then typed under business "social media" and nothing showed up in my query. Then I tried Google local and MSN live local with the same results. Right then a light bulb went off in my head, and maybe at first it was only a 15w one. That maybe this was still really new for anyone to use Social Media for attract customers and sell products. So at a birthday party I asked John Marshall of Market Motive www.marketmotive.com how I could learn more. As luck would have it Market Motive had a series of webinars geared to make a beginner like myself an expert. Now after 20 hours of the webinars of both there's and others I felt this was easy. I still needed more knowledge because now I felt there was a business opportunity. John Marshall suggested going to the Search Engine Strategic conference in San Jose with a warning. The warning was if I go for all three days I'll get so much information so quickly my head will explode. Deciding to air on the side of caution I went for only two days. With my head completely intact I now understood Social Media. To quote one of the presenters Greg Jarboe www.seo-pr.com "this is new, it’s so new there are no experts and if you learn it today your now an expert”. Now feeling like an expert I contacted Lindsey Cahill who is someone I've worked with before. Lindsey has a degree in creative writing and a passion for doing things that are unique. I also contacted Dave Schneider www.fringe.com mainly because I prefer his Internet radio station to any other and also he's my cousin. He told me that content is key and there is no magic bullet of website or blog optimization. To prove his point I heard a story at the SES of a contest they had were they were given a unique term to write a blog about and they would see in six months who had the highest ranking. The winner wasn't a major SEO company it was a blogger with really good content.Join My Community at MyBloglog! View Charles Fredell cfredell@gmail.com's profile on LinkedIn

Official Google Blog: Using data to fight webspam

Official Google Blog: Using data to fight webspam At SES San Jose there was a quote by Matt Cutts at the Orion roundtable where he gave an example of a car dealership and someone using search to find out more information about that car based on a viral community that they belonged to. Does anyone have a link to that quote. I would like to put it in a blog dealer public relations.
